Annick Petrus taught and directed several schools in Saint-Martin. Originally from Guadeloupe, she is also a lieutenant officer of the island's fire brigade. She was elected to the territorial council of Saint-Martin for the first time in 2017 as 3rd vice-president in charge of the Solidarity and Families delegation. In 2020, she ran for senatorial elections and was elected senator within the Les Républicains party.
