Transport: training of transporters
The Collectivité has organised training for transporters as part of key initiatives for regularisation and skills development for transport professionals.

Training sessions were organized mainly for drivers working in the passenger transport sector, the transport of goods and the activity of driving a Taxi or a Grande Remise vehicle. These trainings allowed participants to acquire the Professional Capacity Certificate and to comply with the legal requirements in force.
Future craftsmen were able to follow a qualifying training in professional capacity for Taxi and Grande Remise (GRE) activities, among which 18 candidates obtained their certificate. Various continuing training sessions were provided for drivers who already held a Taxi or GRE license and whose professional card had expired.
Thanks to these training efforts, 47 drivers renewed their professional card in partnership with an approved Taxi Trainer, in April 2024, and the approved organization Cabinet Coach Formation-SXM, in December 2024.
The “ADR TMD Safety Advisor” training was also provided, from February 3 to 7, 2025, to agents of the Transport and Regulations Department of the Collectivité of Saint-Martin, and to drivers of a dangerous goods transport company.
Delivered by the trainer from the APTH BVT-APAVE training center, this training focused on an introduction to the TMD-ADR regulations (Transport of Dangerous Materials according to French, European and international standards). It allowed participants to acquire knowledge about dangerous goods and to strengthen their technical and operational skills.
Through this training initiative for transporters, the Collectivité de Saint-Martin reaffirms its strong commitment to the professionalization of the transport sector, in compliance with safety standards.
