In 2024, the Collectivité of Saint-Martin has decided to renew its LEND A HAND system intended for young people looking for work. Two paid company immersion phases will take place with funding from the European Social Fund (85%) and the Collectivité of Saint-Martin.
What is the “Lend a Hand” system?
Thanks to the partnership established with local businesses since 2009, the “LEND A HAND” operation allows many young people to find employment over a short period. It is about introducing them to the realities of the world of work by giving them the knowledge necessary to build their professional project.
Over the last few years, the operation has been very successful with businesses and young people. The operation is led by the Department of Training, Skills and Employment, responsible for identifying young people, prospecting businesses and establishing relationships, in partnership with the local Mission of Saint- Martin and France Travail.
What is the target of the device?
The trainees targeted by this system are job seekers aged between 16 and 30.
How does the system work?
The operation takes place in two phases and over two periods:
• A training phase of 5 days or 30 hours maximum
• The immersion phase lasts one month, renewable once successively (without interruption).
• 1st period: June 24 to August 31, 2024 | 2nd period: October 25 to December 31, 2024
How much do interns receive?
They each receive monthly remuneration of €1,398.70 net, i.e. €1,098.70 paid by the Collectivité and €300 by the host structure (company or association).
How to register for the system?
Selection and registration are made on file with the Directorate of Training, Skills and Employment, located in the Collectivité annex, rue de la Liberté, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The deadline for submitting files is June 16, 2024.
The rules of the system and its budget
The regulations for the LEND A HAND system, as well as the overall budget of €400,000, were validated by the executive council on May 16, 2024. This amount includes training, communication, trainee remuneration and management costs. Services and Payments Agency (ASP).
This operation is financed thanks to European solidarity to the amount of €340,000 (85% FSE), and the Collectivité of Saint-Martin to the amount of €60,000.
