How do I apply for an Urban Planning Certificate (CU)?

Do you want to buy building land, build a house or make a donation? It is recommended to ask the town hall for an Urban Planning Certificate (CU) before carrying out any of these operations.

There are 2 types of town planning certificate:

  • The information CU (type A): it contains information on the town planning rules on the plot, taxes and easements. It's enough if you don't have specific plans.
  • The operational CU (type B): indicates whether your project is feasible on the plot in question.

What is the Predictable Natural Risk Prevention Plan (PPRN or PPRNP)?

  • It is a planning document which regulates the use of land according to the foreseeable natural risks to which it is subject.
  • The Saint-Martin PPRN was updated in 2021 in order, in particular, to facilitate the reconstruction of the island following the passage of storm Irma in 2017 and to guarantee the implementation of preventive measures. It is available further down on this page.
