THE PREFECTURE COMMUNICATES

Transition to yellow alert for heavy rain, wind and dangerous seas at the coast
The Isaac phenomenon, under surveillance since last week, has adopted since this morning a trajectory
further south than envisaged. Therefore, the risk of having cyclonic winds is therefore zero.
However, meteorological phenomena of a certain intensity will be observed at the end of the day and
in the night from Thursday to Friday. Wind gusts of 94 km/h could be measured in Saint Barthélemy this morning.


After reinforced vigilance and mobilization of all the services of the ;State, Mrs. Prefect has
decided to bring vigilance back to yellow level for rain (40 to 60 mm expected), wind (40 to 50 km/h with gusts between 80 and 100 km/h ) and dangerous seas at the coast (3m to 3.50m).
Schools will be able to welcome students again tomorrow morning.
State services remain mobilized and encourage you to stay informed about the progress of this
meteorological phenomenon and behave cautiously.
Individual behavioral measures recommended by the prefecture:

YELLOW VIGILANCE HEAVY RAIN: BE ATTENTION!
/>Inform yourself of the weather situation and be particularly careful:
- if you have to practice risky sports outdoors,
- if your outdoor activities are located in an exposed area, on land as at sea too,
- if you have to travel in flood-prone areas (crossing fords, ravines or low passages
at the bottom of hills in particular),
- in the event of a storm : avoid using telephones and electrical appliances. Do not take shelter close to pylons or poles or under a tree.
