Territorial waste management plan: opening of a public inquiry

The Territorial Waste Prevention and Management Plan (PTPGD) is a short, medium and long term planning tool, on a territorial scale. A public inquiry is open on the draft territorial waste prevention and management plan of Saint Martin, from February 17, 2025 to March 18, 2025. Citizens are called upon to respond and submit their observations and proposals.

The purpose of the Territorial Waste Prevention and Management Plan (PTPGD) is to coordinate all actions undertaken by both public authorities and private organizations with a view to ensuring the achievement of waste management objectives over the period from 2024 to 2036.

The Territorial Waste Prevention and Management Plan (PTPGD) is an adapted version of national objectives, in accordance with the provisions of Article L541-1 of the Environmental Code/

  • Prioritize the prevention and reduction of waste production;
  • Informing consumers;
  • Develop reuse;
  • Increase the quantity of waste subject to recovery;
  • Reduce the quantities of household and similar waste;
  • Ensure the energy recovery of waste that cannot be subject to material recovery;
  • Reduce food waste.

Ms. MEDINA Hélène, principal territorial engineer, is appointed investigating commissioner to conduct this public inquiry and will hold office hours at the Ecological Transition Department, annex of the Collectivité 6 rue de Fort Louis in Marigot, on the following dates:

  • Monday, February 17, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.,
  • Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.,
  • Monday March 17, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.,
  • Tuesday March 18, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Collectivité de Saint-Martin invites residents to consult the file and then submit their observations and proposals, with a view to ensuring transparency and taking into account the interests of citizens and stakeholders.
