DISAPPEARANCE OF JACQUES CHIRAC

“It is with great sadness that I learned this morning of the disappearance of Jacques Chirac.
Jacques Chirac, throughout his political career, been a constant, pugnacious and sincere defender of the Overseas Territories.
Far from considering his overseas compatriots as a variable in budgetary adjustment, he always ensured that the State took into account their specificities, their expectations and their identities. It was under his Presidency that we, Saint-Martinois, after being listened to during his trip in March 2000, then duly consulted by referendum in 2003, accessed a status of autonomy, governed by the organic law of February 21, 2007.

We will miss his attention, his respect and his kindness. My sincere condolences to his family. ".
