March 24, 2021

We are in shock following the announcement of the death

We are in shock following the announcement of the death of Mr. Alain Contant, paying treasurer of the Community, responsible for the Saint-Martin Public Finance Center (CFP).

Mr. Contant was our privileged interlocutor, we are very saddened by this terrible ordeal for his family and loved ones. We had built professional and friendly ties over time since he took up his post at the head of the CFP of Saint-Martin, he was an essential partner at a pivotal moment in the history of our overseas community.

We have a heartfelt thought for his family to whom we send our most sincere condolences and our unwavering support.

Our condolences also go to his entire team at the CFP de Saint- Martin and our territorial agents seconded to his services.

Alain Contant was by our side when we chose an in-depth restructuring of public procurement. He was a committed man, with a keen sense of public service, he fought against injustice and had morals and ethics firmly in his heart. His unfailing investment in helping Saint-Martin and the Community made Alain Contant a good man, attentive to his environment, concerned about the success of our institutions. He had a strong, endearing, sparkling personality, a man we will remember.

We appreciated his advice, his support and his rigor during the administrative reform that we initiated in recent months.
