“I am very saddened to learn that President Aline Hanson left us today. She held the reins of the community until the end of her mandate despite illness. She fought until the end, showing great courage. We can all be proud of his journey and his commitment to Saint-Martin. Our territory today loses a great lady. This evening, I pay tribute to the President and the woman she was, and I thank her on behalf of the people of Saint-Martin.
Aline Hanson was a woman of conviction, deeply human, who devoted her life to her territory, first through her role as a teacher, then as a school director, and through her community commitment for which she has been rewarded several times. She was at the origin of great achievements in her chosen field, education, and I salute her achievements which today benefit all Saint-Martin residents. Her generosity, her humanism, her strong personality, will have marked the history of Saint-Martin, and won over all those who knew her.
I have always had very high esteem for the President , who was my teacher, one of those we never forget, and I have always admired her tenacity and strength of character. She deeply loved Saint-Martin and especially the youth of her territory in whose favor she invested her life throughout.
This evening, I have a moving thought for Leela, her daughter, her grandchildren, and all members of his family. I send them my sincere condolences and support on my own behalf, but also on behalf of my four vice-presidents, territorial councilors, and community staff, who are very touched by this disappearance. Goodbye Madam President, you will remain in our hearts, we will not forget you.”
