“We learn with great emotion of the death

“We learn with great emotion of the death of Madame Lucette Michaud-Chevry, an outstanding politician, and an exceptional personality in the service of Guadeloupe.

I send my most sincere condolences to his family and loved ones, on behalf of the Community of Saint-Martin and the people of Saint-Martin, with a special thought for his daughter, Marie-Luce Penchard.

Endowed with meaning legendary politician, great charisma and unconditional love for the Guadeloupe archipelago, Ms. Michaud-Chevry has built an exceptional political career over the decades by occupying important positions, up to the highest positions in the State in 1986 and 1993. It is at the origin of numerous achievements and has embodied, for the young ultra-marine generation, a combative identity.

I, for my part, was marked by his strong personality, his elegance and his power of persuasion.

Advocating “political courage in the service of development” as she expressed it in the “Basse-Terre Declaration” in 1999, Madame Michaud-Chevry marked the history of the Antilles in general and of Guadeloupe in particular.

We pay tribute to him, with the greatest respect and sincere admiration. ".
