Visit to the slaughterhouse construction site
At the instigation of the site's president, Valérie Fonrose, the EGEA company, which manages the structure, organized a visit to the slaughterhouse site, in order to take stock of the work in progress.
A tool adapted to the needs of breeders
This is the first official visit to the site since the start of rehabilitation work on the slaughterhouse in February 2024.
As the interim director of the slaughterhouse, Elie Touzé, points out, the renovation is divided into two phases of work: First phase: bringing the site into compliance, then in a second phase, the construction of an extension intended to accommodate the meat cutting and packaging workshop.
In addition to the presence of the media invited to relay the information to the general public, the breeders were invited to discover the site in order to familiarize themselves with the structure and to use it for the slaughter of animals and the cutting up once the slaughterhouse is operational.
Territorial councillorValérie Fonrose , president of the structure, is closely monitoring the work carried out, determined to offer a tool adapted to the needs of breeders. The end of the project is scheduled for mid-2025, i.e. 14 months of work.
As a reminder: this work, costing 1.67 million euros, is being carried out with the financial support of the European FEADER funds to the tune of 1.5 million. The difference is covered by the collectivité.
