Saint-Martin claims the France Station Nautique label
The Collectivité de Saint-Martin is continuing the process of obtaining the France Station Nautique label. This includes 26 coastal, river or lakeside Nautical Stations located in mainland France and overseas and is dedicated to a sustainable development project for the territory based on existing nautical activities. After completing the legal steps, the Collectivité should obtain its label before the end of 2024.

Certify the performance level of the stations
The Nautical Stations all meet the same quality criteria, share the same values and the same ambition to promote nautical activities for all.
This 5-year label aims to certify the station's performance level, local organization, facilities and equipment. It is a label with several levels, defined in the General Station Manual, as well as the access system to each level.
The label's mission is:
- to work for the sustainable development of nautical activities
- to coordinate the actions of economic players and local authorities in the field of boating
- facilitate access to water activities for tourists and local residents
- create a context favorable to innovation and experimentation within the stations
- promote boating for all
- to promote the image of Nautical Resorts in France and internationally
To obtain this label, Communities must:
- Justify the presence of several “nautical activity organizers”. These are:
- Either affiliated, approved or associated with Sports Federations,
- Either organizations of a different nature and developing their activities within the precise and strict framework of the laws and regulations in force.
- Provide proof of the presence of at least three nautical disciplines (these are: sailing, surfing, kite-surfing, canoeing-kayaking, water skiing, power boating, underwater sports, excursionist, recreational fishing, etc.)
- Provide proof of organized tourist reception and identify other local stakeholders (services, businesses, accommodation, etc.)
- Identify the marina(s) and organized anchorages where they exist.
The equipment, legal form, employment, purpose of the structure, presentation of activities, opening hours, development of sports activities for people with disabilities, resources and nautical activities are the criteria selected by tourism stakeholders for a feasibility study.
After sending a letter of interest for this label and a feasibility study was carried out last March on the territory, the Collectivité of Saint-Martin received a favorable opinion allowing it to submit its application before the end of June 2024, for the 2-star level.
The Label Awarding Committee will study the Collectivité 's application for a control audit in the territory in August 2024. The Label should be issued at the end of 2024.
