Young adults: association for each other

The association l'un pour l'autre is a network dedicated to young adults from Saint-Martin who have been placed under Child Welfare Assistance (ASE). This initiative, funded by the Collectivité de Saint-Martin, aims to provide support and assistance to former children in care up to the age of 21, in order to promote their autonomy and their social and professional integration.

Who is she?

The Association L'Un Pour l'Autre is made up of former children in care, childhood professionals, and volunteers working in Saint-Martin. It aims to create a supportive space where young adults can share their experiences, find resources adapted to their needs, and build a peaceful future.

The objectives

  • Promoting autonomy : supporting young adults in their transition to adult life, whether on a personal, social or professional level.
  • Create a supportive network : allow young people to rely on a community of mutual aid and exchange.
  • Supporting integration : offering suitable systems for finding a job, accessing housing, or continuing training.
  • Maintain an educational link : ensure caring follow-up after the ASE support period.

Services offered by the association

  • Social and administrative support : help with administrative procedures (housing, health, social rights, etc.). Guidance towards professional integration and training systems.
  • Psychological support : connecting with professionals to provide a space for listening and support.
  • Workshops and activities : organization of group sessions on practical themes: budget management, job preparation, health and well-being. Cultural and sporting activities to strengthen ties between members.
  • Accommodation assistance : support to access suitable temporary or permanent solutions.
  • Strengthening the link with former children in care : creation of a support network between former ASE beneficiaries.

Who can benefit from the services?

The services of the association L'un pour l'autre are aimed at young adults aged 18 to 21, who have been placed under the protection of Child Welfare Services in Saint-Martin and who wish to find support in their journey towards independence.
