The new command of the Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin gendarmerie (Comgend SBSM)

Historically attached to the command of the Gendarmerie in Guadeloupe, the islands of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin now benefit from an autonomous command.

The Comgend SBSM relies on the resources of the former gendarmerie company, i.e. around 200 soldiers.

The workforce must nevertheless be reinforced, particularly on the island of Saint-Martin, with the creation – as part of the 239 new brigades announced by the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron – of a mobile brigade installed at Sandy Ground in the months future.
