Driving in Saint-Martin

The road network of Saint-Martin is made up of a main belt which surrounds the island and smaller roads which connect the neighborhoods and the beaches.

A French or international driving license is required to drive throughout the country. Driving is carried out according to French standards in the right lane, applying the Highway Code.

The taxi network regularly serves the main towns on the island as well as tourist sites.

The two airports and the Marigot ferry terminal are served 7 days a week with very wide opening hours.

Taxis do not have meters but they respect an established price list. Payment on board can generally be made in euros or dollars.
