Louis Mussington

President of the Territorial Council

Louis Mussington was elected President of the Collectivité of Saint-Martin on April 3, 2022.

A native of Saint-Martin, he left the island as a child to settle in Guadeloupe to study and train for his future professional career. Aware of the essential role of education in society, he became a teacher.

Very early on, he showed a strong interest in politics and was only 16 years old when he took his first actions. His career as a local elected official began in 1998 as general councilor of Guadeloupe in the canton of Saint-Martin. He was then elected regional councilor of Guadeloupe in 2004 then became territorial councilor of Saint-Martin in 2007 during the first elections of the Collectivité.

In 2022, he won the territorial elections at the head of the Rassemblement Saint-Martinois-Alternative party list with the desire to revitalize the territory by prioritizing, among other things, youth, employment and professional training.

He chairs three commissions within the Collectivité : the ad hoc commission for revising the internal regulations of the territorial council and the organic law, the tenders commission and the territorial town planning commission.
