Visit of the ADF President - Dominique Bussereau
President Daniel Gibbs received, Wednesday April 17, 2019, Mr. Dominique Bussereau, president of the Assembly of Departments of France (ADF), and Pierre Monzoni, director general, traveling to the Antilles. Prefect Sylvie Feucher was represented by Mr. Mikaël Doré, secretary general of the Prefecture of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy.
This meeting was an opportunity to discuss concerns common to the departments and communities. A presentation on Active Solidarity Income in Saint-Martin caught the attention of President Bussereau, particularly on the question of dematerialization and recentralization of this social benefit. Dominique Bussereau spoke at length about the issues of RSA in the French departments during a press briefing with local journalists.
A visit to the infrastructure of the port of Galisbay and a presentation of the extension project by the site director Albéric Ellis, punctuated this ADF trip.
President Gibbs praised the generosity of the ADF and the departments of France in the aftermath of Irma, €1.5 million in donations having been sent to the community of Saint-Martin. A sum primarily earmarked for the reconstruction of educational establishments. “Always an enriching sharing of experience and significant support at the national level,” concluded President Gibbs.
