Mr. Daniel Gibbs meets the president of the French Red Cross

Monday, November 13, President Daniel Gibbs received in community the president of the French Red Cross, Professor Jean-Jacques Eledjam, who has chaired the first association in France since 2013.

On a visit from the field in Saint-Martin, Jean-Jacques Eledjam came to see the damage caused by Irma and the dramatic consequences of the hurricane on the most deprived. Accompanied by members of his cabinet and Joceline Bretchel, president of the territorial delegation of the Red Cross, the professor was able to go to the heart of the disaster areas and assess the emergency situations for himself.

President Gibbs expressed his thanks to the local delegation of the Red Cross and to President Eledjam, recalling that the Red Cross played a crucial role alongside the community in the management of relief and the care responsible for the many people in an absolute emergency situation.
Professor Eledjam, for his part, reassured the president of the community of his intention to deploy significant resources in Saint-Martin to continue the humanitarian aid of the Croix- Red and allow the territorial delegation, until now housed by the Fort Louis route community, to find new premises, the community building having been completely damaged.

It is therefore on the assurance of a solid and lasting partnership that the two men greeted each other, the Red Cross informing President Gibbs of its wish to support the community over the long term, with the next step the organization of a beautiful tree of Christmas with many gifts for the little Saint-Martin residents.
