President Gibbs and his elected officials visit affected businesses

Here are some photos from the last field visits of President Gibbs and his elected officials.

Tuesday October 17: President Daniel Gibbs and his vice-president Yawo Nyuiadzi collectively received representatives of the traders' association at their request. President Yann Lecam, Treasurer Fred Erb and Babey Alfred, member, were thus able to transmit their questions to President Gibbs.
President Gibbs reassured traders worried about the problem of processing bulky items, the renovation of the public lighting and insurance cover for “looted” businesses insured for theft. The issue of security was also addressed.

Wednesday October 18: The President and his vice-president Yawo Nyuiadzi visited the businesses in downtown Marigot. They met with traders from rue St James, rue de Gaulle and Marina Port la Royale. For the President, it was a question of providing support and listening to the community in a very fragile economic context.

On the evening of Wednesday, the President and his 1st vice-president Valérie Damaseau went to Quartier d'Orléans where they met entrepreneurs in the sector and discussed their situation and their needs.

Thursday October 19: The President, his vice-president Yawo Nyuiadzi and the territorial advisor Jean-Raymond Benjamin, made a visit to the boulevard de Grand Case to meet local residents. They were also able to speak with some professionals from the Hope Estate area, affected by the hurricane. An opportunity to share a moment of exchange and reassure about the action of the community which is doing everything possible to recover Saint-Martin.

The President found professionals determined to rebuild despite the damage considerable for some of them. He salutes their commitment to economic recovery and guaranteed them support from the community.
The President, in fact, announced at a press conference on Saturday, October 14, that he will devote part of the envelope of European Feder Funds dedicated to the Community for the reconstruction of Saint-Martin and aid to businesses. The terms will be announced at the next territorial council on November 9, 2017.
