The new access road to the ecosite inaugurated!

Wednesday October 11, 2017, the First Vice-President of the community, Mrs. Valérie Damaseau, inaugurated, alongside Prefect Anne Laubies, the new access trail to the Grandes Cayes ecosite. Hurricane IRMA had completely destroyed this access road and it was the engineering battalion, under the command of Colonel Boris Vallaud, which restored the road.

All the soldiers who participated in this work were present during the inauguration. The first Vice-President Valérie Damaseau praised their commitment and thanked Colonel Vallaud for this achievement in the service of the people of Saint-Martin. Access to the ecosite is a priority to be able to process the waste accumulated by IRMA. While the community cleared the roads, in record time, with the help of local companies, and stored jails and other waste on 11 selected sites in the area, it must now continue its cleaning work and remove these bulky items. so that they can be processed at the Grandes Cayes ecosite. This is a long process that will take several weeks or even months.
