The community requests the removal of end-of-life vehicles (ELVs)
The community of Saint-Martin asks owners of end-of-life vehicles to contact their insurer within a week, in order to complete the claim reporting process and have their vehicle evacuated from the public domain by their insurance in as soon as possible.
As the community is cleaning up the area, it needs these abandoned vehicles to be removed from the public domain as quickly as possible. Indeed, in addition to hindering traffic, obstructing parking and access to certain car parks, these end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) represent a danger to personal safety and public health. ELVs in fact promote vector-borne diseases by providing breeding grounds for mosquitoes and insects.
Beyond the 8 days of tolerance granted, the community of Saint-Martin will proceed by territorial decree to issue formal notice to the owners having not taken this step with their insurer, it will proceed to the removal of end-of-life vehicles by integrating them into the destruction circuit.
The community of Saint-Martin thanks you for your contribution and your understanding, this system is part of a public utility approach following the passage of hurricane IRMA.
