1, 2, Tree: A Gaillac for the prosperity of Saint-Martin!

The community's Culture department and the Tourist Office have joined forces to set up a series of events as part of Caribbean Tourism Month.

For the day of Caribbean tourism, on November 7, the 1.2 Tree for Saint Martin operation made it possible to celebrate Saint-Martin with the symbolic planting of a local tree, the Gaillac, in the community garden.

The Minister of Education, Youth, Culture and Sports of Sint Maarten, Mrs. Silvéria Jacob, was present alongside the first vice-president of the community and president of the 39;Tourist Office, Valérie Damaseau.

The Tourist Office in partnership with the Culture department and the Environment department with the support of the Neighborhood Councils has in fact proposed to replant trees and plants to beautify the territory after Irma.

The idea of ​​this project is to raise awareness among the population as part of the reconstruction of the island on the environment. A series of plantings are planned for the coming weeks.
